Hello and thank you for visiting davedeluca.com. For almost 20 years I have been a student of the Vedanta yoga wisdom of ancient India. The Vedanta scriptures, the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita, and others, make up the oldest living corpus of spiritual wisdom in the world, and, as yoga's source scriptures, they offer the modern seeker an amazing variety of time-tested methods for spiritual growth with a spiritual psychology breathtaking in its depth, originality, universality, and transformational power. My love for them has been a monumental blessing in my life, and has turned me into a lifelong and grateful student, advocate and teacher.
I am excited about my partnership with New World Library and the release of our new book, Sacred Jewels of Yoga. We have already worked together on Pathways to Joy: The Four Yoga Paths to God, a collection of yoga teachings from the blessed Swami Vivekananda, and now, in Sacred Jewels of Yoga, we are offering an anthology of one-page passages from some of India's most beloved and important source yoga scriptures and commentary. This is what Huston Smith, one of America's most respected religious scholars, has to say about our book:
“Few causes are more worthy than that of enlightening Westerners about
India’s sacred heritage, and this book succeeds in doing that wondrously.”
You will find selections from Sacred Jewels of Yoga posted on this site for you to sample, and I hope you will consider making the book part of your spiritual library. If you love yoga, or you simply have an affinity for the ideals of Oneness or the divinity of the human soul, I believe that the yoga passages you'll find in the book from the Upanishads, the Bhagavad Gita, Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, Narada's Bhakti Sutras and other revered yoga scriptures will be great sources of clarity, inspiration, and guidance in your life, as they have been for countless millions of seekers throught the millennia who have come before.
I have also posted selections from Pathways to Joy for you to review and enjoy. If you are new to Swami Vivekananda, I think you will find what Gandhi said about him to be true: "Swami Vivekananda's writings needs no introduction from anybody. They make their own irressistible appeal." Vivekananda's powerful commentary on Vedanta Yoga are the perfect compliment to the scriptures themselves, in that they help deepen our understanding of the wisdom and offer us clear and inspiring instructions on how best to utilize these great spiritual yoga pathways to manifest the divinity within us.
So please have a look around the site. There is a good sampling of material here for you to review about Vedanta, Jnana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Karma Yoga, Raja Yoga, the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Yoga Sutras and other revered yoga scriptures. And if you would like to be part of our Vedanta Yoga community, just send us your first name and email address using the form on this page and we will keep you appraised of upcoming events.
And finally, if you have an interest in having India's most ancient and beloved yoga scriptures, principles and practices presented to your group faithfully, lovingly, and in ways that will give your members a strong foundational understanding of how to use them most effectively in their day to day lives, please send me an email at dave@davedeluca.com. I look forward to the honor of presenting Vedanta's ancient Oneness wisdom and its amazing spiritual yoga practices to you and your group.
Thank you once again for visiting this site. Blessings to you on your spiritual journey, and salutations to all the great holy men and women who continue to inspire and help light the way.
With love,
Dave DeLuca
